Safety device fabricated entirely from AISI 316 steel for the protection of man and machine in the event of a sudden breakage of connection flange seals. Often inadequate maintenance or other circumstances result in a reduction of the performance of a seal and in some situations this could be dangerous, even life-threatening.
This is especially so on pressurised systems that convey hot or hazardous liquids where it becomes an indispensable aid. This device acts as a barrier to the propagation of a possible high pressure leak that might harm workers and equipment in the vicinity of the connection as it dissipates the force. It does not block the spill, but it limits the possibilities of injury or death.
